A new venture

Hi

I am starting to blog today and hope it would be a success. For most of the housewives it is a daily question "what can I prepare today for lunch, breakfast or dinner?". I struggle with the same question almost everyday and some times i also come up with good suggestions. Today, I thought of trying a recipe of my own. Yes. And it came out well too. Well!!! Thats what my husband said. One thing I should tell about him. He is that kind of person who is very sensitive about tasty food even if it means having only a poriyal or a curry. Well today I tried out "vendaikaai puli kulambu" in a different way. This is what I did

Ingredients:

Lady's finger-10
scraped coconut- 1 cup
small onions- 10(need not chop)
chilly powder- 2 tsp
turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
tomatoes- 3 small
tamarind- a very small piece
oil- as needed
mustard seeds-1 tsp
dried red chillies-1 cut into 2 pieces

Method:

Cut the lady's fingers into small pieces and fry them in oil along with the small onions. Grind the grated coconut finely. Boil tomatoes in a pan with little water and add them along with the coconut and grind finely. Once when the lady's fingers and onions are well friend, add chilly powder and turmeric powder and fry them for 3 minutes in low heat. Now add the grated coconut and tomatoes and the tamarind piece and let it boil for some time. Fry mustard seeds and red chilly pieces in oil and garnish the curry with it and two or three curry leaves. Serve hot with rice. Don't forget to add salt as you need.

This curry came out well, and it was somewhat orange in color. Do try this out and send me your comments. Just now an idea came to me. From tomorrow , I will try to take a picture of the dishes I prepare and post them too..Good day!!!!!!!!!11
